When you are deciding what to read, which of these factors has the most influence -- know the author, book reviews, friends' recommendation or popularity (the book is a bestseller)?
I think for most of us, it is probably a mix. If I loved an author's last book, though, that is a sure way to get me to read the next one. Of course, I will admit this often leaves me disappointed. It is sort of like going to a sequel of a favorite movie. It can never be as good as the first.
